FAQS

Product

Are there other craft uses for the egg dyes? Can I make paint for kids? The egg dyes can be used in any DIY craft project that calls for traditional food coloring. Such uses include homemade salt doughslime or finger paints.

Can you save / preserve the egg dye once water is added? Not really. You can try putting them in the fridge but they will spoil since the dyes are made from all-natural food products and we do not add preservatives. The mixes are only best for 1-2 hours to get the most vibrant colors but used dye mixes can also be used to make playdough (play dough) or for coloring food (egg dye kits are food safe)

How do you get the cool patterns on the eggs like the package art? The eggs on the packaging cover were dyed first, then painted with our Natural Earth Paint. You can also use rubber bands, white wax crayons, or other items as noted on the website for fun designs and patterns

For the natural egg dyes, if they aren’t organic how are they different from regular dyes? Our dyes are made from fruits and vegetables. They are all natural, whereas conventional egg dye kits are made from petroleum based synthetic dyes which have been linked to autism and other behavioural disorders in children and a multitude of other health issues.

Are your egg dyes food grade? Could they be used to dye frosting? Yes, they are actually natural food dyes, they are meant for food and to be eaten.

How long does a unopened packet of dried ingredients last for? Dried and unopened the paint has a 2-3 year shelf life.

Safety and Quality

Can my child or I eat your paints? Although they are non-toxic, our paints are not intended for consumption. However, our Natural Egg Dye Kits are FDA approved for use in food!

Are your products free of nuts, dairy, and gluten for people with allergies? All of our products are free of gluten and dairy. Our only product containing nuts is our Refined Walnut Oil, but it is not processed in our facility.

Are your products cruelty-free? Absolutely! None of our products are ever tested on animals.

Are your Paints Vegan (not derived from animals)? Yes all of our paints are vegan, with the exception of our Natural Face Paint which contains beeswax

Have these products been tested for health safety? Yes, all of the paints, pigments, and supplies have been tested by government certified toxicologists and are also third party tested. They are certified completely non-toxic.

Is it toxic to breathe the dust before mixing it into paint? It’s not healthy to breathe any type of dust into your lungs, even if it is non-toxic and natural (like our pigments), or even dust from a dirt road! When mixing your paint, use caution to avoid creating clouds of dust. Some people who are extra sensitive or concerned about dust can wear a certified mask for greater protection.

All Natural and it Feels so Good!

What an amazing product! You can't go wrong with this environmentally friendly packaging, all natural, egg dye kit that could be eaten. I looked at Pass first because I used it as a kid and they have some ingredients that are deemed indigestible or low toxicity.
